Job summary

Lancashire County Council's Facilities Management team is seeking a Casual Cleaning Operative to join the Burnley area. You will perform general cleaning tasks across designated sites, maintaining high standards of cleanliness for community buildings.

Applicants should be flexible to cover sickness, holidays and extra service demands. Prior cleaning experience is desirable, but full training and ongoing support will be provided. A Foundation Living Wage is offered for this post.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

About The Role

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council are looking to recruit a Casual Cleaning Operative who is required to carry out cleaning duties in the Burnley area.

A flexible approach to work is required, as the successful candidate would be required to cover sickness, holidays or provide support to meet additional service demands. Providing your own transport is an advantage, but not essential.

The Facilities Management team is responsible for some of the most prestigious and iconic buildings in Lancashire. These buildings provide essential services to the community and vulnerable people. Keeping these buildings clean is essential to everyone who use these facilities
