Job summary

Anchor Group Services is hiring a Cleaning Operative for Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon. You will perform cleaning tasks to high standards, including general areas, waste disposal, and spill response, while ensuring safety and COSHH compliance.

You’ll need good communication, reliability, and flexibility to cover shifts on a 32.5-hour week. The role reports to the Operations Manager and includes access to Anchor Academy training and employee benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas according to the site specification.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly, recycling where applicable.
• Address spillages quickly to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Follow H&S and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Operate site equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Provide excellent customer service and interact with onsite clients.

Job Role: Cleaning Operative

Working Hours: 15:00-21:30, 5 out of 7 days as per site rota, 32.5 hours per week

Pay:£13.45 per hour

Location:Brunel Shopping Centre, 29A Canal Walk, Swindon, SN1 1LF

Reporting to:Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced cleaner to join the site cleaning team at Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon as a Cleaning Operative.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out a range of cleaning tasks, safely and professionally, to a high standard. You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, have the ability to communicate on all levels and provide flexibility to cover additional shifts, as and when required.

Duties include:

• Cleaning of designated areas, ensuring the agreed cleaning specification is completed, as per the site instructions
  
• Emptying of bins, ensuring recycled waste is disposed of correctly
  
• Attending to spillages by making sure they are cleaned up, within an efficient timeframe, to prevent accidents and ensure site and staff safety
  
• Following H&S and COSHH regulations
  
• Use of site-specific equipment, machinery and handling chemicals
  
• Proactive interaction with on-site clients and customers, offering superb customer service.
