Job summary

OCS is seeking a Site Cleaning Manager for AO Arena Manchester to lead cleaning operations, manage staff rotas, ensure hygiene standards and uphold safety policies. You will act as the primary liaison for the client and OCS management, driving continuous improvement across site facilities.

The ideal candidate will have people management experience, strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to support a high‑profile venue in a dynamic event schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operations conform to H&S policies and COSHH risk assessments.
  • Act as first point of contact for client and OCS management.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives on requirements and concerns.
  • Organise rotas and complete wage and paperwork.
  • Manage equipment, stock levels and consumables.
  • Assist with staff training and development.
  • Provide regular reporting on operational performance.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Site Cleaning Manager. As the Cleaning Manager, you will be managing the cleaning operations within the venue, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and overall maintenance standards are consistently met. Your primary focus will be to lead a team of cleaning staff, manage schedules, and enforce safety protocols to create a clean and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

Shifts will vary across the week dependent upon the event schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the contract operates within H&S policies and procedures and in line with COSHH and risk assessments.
  • Act as the first point of contact for our client and OCS management.
  • Work with customer representatives to address any specific requirements or concerns.
  • Organise rotas and complete wage and other paperwork
  • Manage equipment, materials and stock levels
  • Assist with training
  • Provide regular reporting on operational performance
Ideal Candidate Criteria
  • Must have Right to Work in the UK
  • Experience in a similar role - BICS qualification preferred
  • Strong people management skills
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of work
  • Strong communication skills - essential for client liaison
