Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Cleaning Area Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple sites. You will manage a small team, schedule rotas and holidays, and deliver training while ensuring records are accurately maintained.

The role involves early morning visits (6-8am) and late afternoon (4-7pm) on weekdays, with sites spanning Derby, Oldham, Leeds and Wakefield. COSHH and IOSH training are desirable, and Right to Work in the UK is required.

Working pattern

Monday to Friday - Covering the business needs

About The Role

Covering the business needs: Monday to Friday. This role involves looking after school contracts with visits to morning sites from 6-8am and afternoon sites from 4-7pm. The job covers a distance from Derby, Oldham, Leeds, Wakefield.

Holiday entitlement will be accrued on a pro‑ra‑ta basis in line with weeks worked.

As Cleaning Area Manager, you will ensure that cleaning staff perform their duties efficiently, maintain high cleanliness standards, and contribute to a safe and hygienic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a small team, looking after rotas, holidays, and performance and responsible for delivering training to all cleaning operatives and ensuring all records are updated correctly.


• Responsible for conducting cleaning audits on a weekly basis and escalating any areas of concern.


• An awareness of the need to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.


• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.


• This role may require the use of heavy industrial equipment, specialist chemicals and working at heights.

Ideal Candidate Criteria

• You must have Right to Work in the UK


• Excellent communication skills.


• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role.


• A background working in cleaning/ food manufacturing environment would be advantageous.


• Willingness to work at height.


• COSHH and IOSH trained desirable.
