Job summary

Teesside University is seeking a part-time Cleaner to perform daily cleaning tasks across campus, following the schedules set by the Cleaning Team Leaders and Supervisor. You will operate vacuums and scrubbing machines and participate in major cleaning programmes during vacation periods.

The role requires knowledge of industrial cleaning methods and COSHH, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to work at different university locations. A basic computer use for emails is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with standard campus cleaning routines and equipment.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to work on own initiative and adapt to different locations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning tasks as directed by Cleaning Team Leaders and Supervisor.
• Follow established schedules and use vacuums and scrubbing machines.
• Assist with major cleaning programmes during vacation periods.

Job description

Day to day duties will include completing all cleaning tasks assigned by the Cleaning Team Leaders and Cleaning Supervisor, following the provided schedules of work and using machinery such as vacuums and scrubbing machines. During vacation periods you will also be required to complete major cleaning programmes across the campus.

You must have a working knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, some knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe working practices, and will be able to work on your own initiative. You may be required to work in any University location. A basic experience of using a computer for tasks such as reading and replying to University e-mails would be desirable.
