Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join a site in the West Midlands on a temporary contract.

You will help keep teaching spaces, offices and communal areas clean, tidy and safe for learners, staff and visitors. The role involves following cleaning schedules as part of a wider site team, and taking pride in maintaining a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: reliable, thorough approach with attention to detail.
• Essential: ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Essential: understanding of health and safety practices.
• Desirable: COSHH awareness certificate.
• Desirable: previous cleaning experience in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms and communal areas to the required standard.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and in line with health and safety guidance.
• Report maintenance issues, damage or hazards to the appropriate staff.
• Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and consumables.

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Cleaner to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll help keep teaching spaces, offices and communal areas clean, tidy and safe for learners, staff and visitors.

You'll work as part of a wider site team, following agreed cleaning schedules and taking pride in the standard of the environment you maintain.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms and communal areas to the required standard.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly.
• Using cleaning equipment and materials safely and in line with health and safety guidance.
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage or hazards to the appropriate member of staff.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies and consumables.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A reliable, thorough approach and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• An understanding of health and safety and safe working practices

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous cleaning experience, ideally in a school, college or similar setting
• A relevant health and safety or COSHH awareness certificate
