Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a contracted cleaning post at East Leake Academy, Loughborough. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The post holder will perform a range of cleaning duties across classrooms, offices and washrooms, while adhering to COSHH and health and safety guidelines. A local DBS clearance is required for the role.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience within schools, offices, or public environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards.

• Ability to undertake physical cleaning duties.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across the academy premises.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Undertake litter picking around the site as required.
• Vacuum carpets and floor coverings.
• Sweep, mop and maintain hard floor surfaces.
• Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean and sanitise high-touch surfaces.
• Clean and maintain washrooms, toilets and handwashing facilities.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet rolls and paper towels where required.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to agreed standards and schedules.
• Safely use cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals.
• Report maintenance issues, defects or health and safety concerns.
• Follow COSHH, health and safety and site procedures at all times.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.

To provide high-quality cleaning services within a school environment, ensuring all areas are maintained to a clean, safe and hygienic standard for pupils, staff and visitors.
