Job summary

ALS is seeking a reliable Cleaner/Recycling Technician to maintain a clean, safe environment across the premises and support efficient processing of laboratory samples and recyclable waste. You will work as part of a small team, with duties ranging from floor care and bin management to glassware washing and rotating sample handling.

The role emphasizes adherence to Health & Safety risk assessments, independent work, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of correct use of cleaning products.
  • Knowledge of colour-coded cleaning equipment and its use in different areas.
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness within laboratory and office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Clean ALS premises daily, sweep and mop floors and maintain hygiene in offices and labs.
  • Empty and dispose of refuse from bins and ensure proper waste handling for collection.
  • Monitor and support site recycling streams; assist with compacting and baling recycling when required.
  • Wash glassware and handling of sample bottles as part of rotating tasks.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and products are stored safely and as per risk assessments.
  • Liaise with third-party waste and recycling contractors as needed.
