Job summary

Longdendale High School seeks an Evening Cleaner to join the cleaning team. The role is 15 hours per week, term-time, 3.30pm–6.30pm, at SCP 2 (£13.01 per hour). You will clean classrooms, stairs, toilets and corridors to keep the school environment welcoming, clean and safe.

Experience is helpful but not essential. The post is subject to safeguarding checks and health and safety guidelines must be followed; interviews will be held w/c 5 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Willingness to be flexible, professional, and to follow health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work 15 hours per week during term time as directed by Site/Operations Manager.

In order to ensure the school environment is welcoming, clean and safe we are seeking to appoint a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic candidate to join our cleaning team.

Working effectively, alongside other members of the team, you will be responsible for the general cleaning of all areas of the school, including classrooms, stairs, toilets and corridors.

Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. A willingness to be flexible in your approach, acting in a professional manner, paying attention to detail, and having the ability to carry out all duties in line with school expectations and health and safety guidelines are all qualities, which are essential.

The post which is 15 hours per week is to be worked during term time as directed by the Site Managers/Operations Manager to ensure the needs of the school are met.
