Job summary

John Flamsteed Community School is seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role is 15 hours per week, term-time only (Mon-Fri 3:15pm-6:15pm). Actual salary £9,031.78. Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential; DBS check is required; training will be provided.

• Reporting any maintenance, damage or health and safety concerns.
• Working as part of the premises/cleaning team to maintain high standards throughout the school.

John Flamsteed Community School is looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our dedicated premises team.

The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal areas.
• Ensuring areas are cleaned to a high standard.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
• Replenishing cleaning materials where required.
• Following the school's cleaning procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Reporting any maintenance, damage or health and safety concerns.
• Working as part of the premises/cleaning team to maintain high standards throughout the school.

The successful candidate will:

• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Take pride in their work and have good attention to detail.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have a positive and professional approach.
• Understand the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment.

Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person's specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
