Job summary

Serco Limited, on behalf of Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, invites applications for a Cleaner at Shrewsbury Sports Village. This part-time position offers 15 hours per week (Tue–Fri evenings) with a pay range of £8.00–£12.71 per hour, dependent on age, plus excellent benefits.

The role supports healthy community activity and a welcoming, safe environment. As a Cleaner you will maintain cleanliness, follow COSHH rules, and assist in keeping facilities safe and inviting for customers.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, or the ability to demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in the role.
• Good communication and customer care skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a pride in maintaining high standards.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Able to work independently, use your initiative, and complete records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistently high standard of cleaning throughout the building.
• Ensure the safe handling and use of chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments.
• Carry out cleaning tasks safely, using appropriate signage and storing equipment securely.
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete all required checklists accurately.
• Report defects, maintenance issues, or areas requiring attention to the Duty Manager.
• Monitor stock levels and advise management when replenishment is required.

Salary: £8.00 - £12.71 per hour (Dependent on age) plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Part-time 15 hours per week, working hours Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6pm - 10pm and Friday 6pm - 9pm.
