Job summary

St. Luke’s CE Primary in Rochdale is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our friendly team, working 16 hours per week to keep classrooms, corridors and facilities clean and safe.

Under the direction of the Site Manager, you will perform general cleaning tasks, use equipment safely, and support a welcoming environment for pupils and staff while complying with health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Undertake cleaning duties across designated areas to maintain high cleanliness and hygiene.
• Carry out general cleaning tasks including washing, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing and dusting.
• Empty litter bins and clean toilets and designated areas.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Report faults or safety concerns to the Site Manager.
• Follow Health and Safety and other policies and procedures.
• Work as part of the school team and communicate with staff, pupils, contractors and visitors.

The Role

As a Cleaner, you will work under the direction of the Site Manager and will:

• Undertake cleaning duties across designated areas of the school to ensure that they are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Carry out general cleaning tasks including washing, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing and dusting.
• Empty litter bins and clean designated areas, including toilets.
• Use cleaning materials and electrical and non-electrical cleaning equipment safely and appropriately.
• Report any faults, defects or concerns relating to equipment or the premises to the appropriate member of staff.
• Follow the school’s Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Work effectively as part of the wider school team and communicate appropriately with staff, pupils, contractors and visitors.
• Participate in relevant training as required and undertake other appropriate duties consistent with the nature and grade of the post.
