Job summary

Westfield Community School is seeking a part-time cleaner to join the premises team. The role involves cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuuming and emptying litter bins, with duties scheduled for 4:00 pm–6:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 4:00 pm–6:00 pm Friday during term time, plus August deep cleans.

Training is provided and experience is welcome. Applicant must be legally entitled to work in the UK; the role is subject to safeguarding checks due to work with children.

• Clean, wash, sweep, vacuum floors and empty litter bins.
• Work 12 hours per week during term time and 7 August days for deep cleans as needed.

Salary: Grade 2, £6,995 per annum. £13.05 per hour

Hours: 12 hours per week during term time plus 7 days in August for deep cleans.

Required for: September 2026

Schedule:

• 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm Monday to Thursday

• Optional alternative morning shift available

We are looking for an enthusiastic cleaner who takes pride in their work. Main duties include cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuuming and emptying litter bins.

Experience preferred; training will be provided.

All candidates must be legally entitled to work in the UK and comply with Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act regulations.

This role involves working with children, young people or vulnerable adults and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. We will carry out an online search and enhanced disclosure plus child barred list check for all shortlisted candidates.
