Job summary

The Active Learning Trust is hiring a part-time Cleaner at Cromwell Community College to help maintain clean, welcoming spaces for students and staff. You will join a supportive site team, working 12.5 hours per week during term time plus five training days and 30 extra hours during school closure periods.

Salary is based on ALT Grade B, with a stable, pension-backed role in a trusted education environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning in school or similar environments preferred.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across the academy, including classrooms, toilets and communal areas, maintaining high standards.
• Prepare rooms and workspaces for teaching, meetings and other activities.
• Restock cleaning supplies and report low stock or equipment faults promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures, reporting hazards and ensuring safe use and storage of cleaning materials.
• Work collaboratively with the site team, completing tasks within agreed timescales and maintaining a safe, secure environment.

  Contract: Permanent, 12.5 hours per week, term time + 5 training days, plus 30 additional hours throughout school closure periods

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 15:30 - 18:00 Salary: ALT Grade B £7,805.90 - £7,866.40 Annually Actual We are looking for reliable and committed Cleaners to join the team at Cromwell Community College, playing a vital role in creating an environment where pupils and staff can thrive. Working as part of a supportive site team, the role calls for a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a practical understanding of health and safety, alongside a willingness to work collaboratively and take pride in a job well done. This is a permanent position offered on a part-time basis, working during school term-time and the 5 staff training days throughout the academic year. The post holder's will also be required to work 30 additional hours throughout school closure periods, as determined by line manager.,
