Job summary

The Hyndburn Academy in Accrington is seeking a conscientious Cleaner to help maintain a clean school environment, supporting the delivery of the curriculum and the wellbeing of pupils.

You will perform daily cleaning to a high standard, handle cleaning materials safely, and contribute to major cleaning tasks during holidays. The role requires reliability, confidentiality, and a commitment to safeguarding pupils.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the school on a daily basis.
• Use cleaning materials safely and in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and COSHH regulations; inform supervisor when stocks are low.
• Participate in major cleaning tasks during school holidays.
• Clean internal windows (door glass) and external windows (ground level) on a planned rotation.
• Be aware of health & safety and fire safety; receive relevant training.
• Take pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality of school matters.

We're looking for a Cleaner to join our team at The Hyndburn Academy, to ensure a clean internal environment of the school premises to support the professional delivery of the school curriculum.

Key responsibilities include:

• To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the school on a daily basis.
• To use cleaning materials appropriately in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and COSHH regulations and/or as directed by your supervisor, to inform the supervisor when stocks are low.
• All cleaners are required to contribute to major cleaning tasks during main school holidays
• To clean internal windows including door glass and external windows (ground level only) on a planned rotation
• To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety and fire safety, appropriate training will be given for this.
• To take pride in a job well done, committed to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• To be punctual, reliable and trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality at all times in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information
