Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a Classroom Support Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with a range of needs in Somerset. The role offers full-time, part-time or term-time hours in supportive schools and is accessible from Taunton, Bridgwater and surrounding areas.

You will work with teachers and support staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment, provide 1:1 and small group support, and help pupils build confidence and independence while following individual plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, care, youth work or coaching is beneficial but not essential.
• A calm, patient and positive approach.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• A genuine passion for supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Are you looking to start or build your experience as a Classroom Support Assistant in Somerset? Vision for Education are recruiting for a Classroom Support Assistant to work in supportive schools across the Somerset area, helping children with a range of additional needs to achieve their full potential. This Classroom Support Assistant role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a mainstream or SEN school setting. This role is easily accessible from Taunton, Bridgwater and the surrounding areas.

About the Role:

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you'll support children across KS1 and KS2 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, PMLD, challenging behaviours, Social Emotional Mental Health and other SEND requirements.

You will:

• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Help pupils build confidence and independence
• Work alongside teachers and other support staff
• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
