Monday to Friday 08:15am-15:15pm
Start date: Monday 28 th April 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Classroom Support Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team at a high achieving secondary school in Cardiff. This rewarding role involves working closely with Key Stage 3 pupils (aged 11-14), providing both academic and emotional support to help them thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging fully in lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support, helping students to develop positive attitudes and strategies for success.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to tailor support according to individual needs.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine interest in supporting young people.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Personal or professional experience working with pupils with additional needs: Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Mental Health Needs.
