ALN Base Learning Support Assistant

Are you a motivated and compassionate individual who thrives on supporting children with additional learning needs? We are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic ALN Base Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive team in a highly regarded primary school in the Chepstow area. This rewarding role involves providing consistent support to pupils within dedicated ALN base classrooms, helping them access learning and achieve their potential in a structured, supportive environment.

Working Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM (term-time only weekends and school holidays off)

About the Role:
This specialised role involves working within ALN base classrooms, offering tailored support to children with a range of additional learning needs. You ll be part of a dedicated team supporting pupils with more complex or long-term needs in a calm, well-resourced setting, while helping them work towards personal and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support in an ALN base setting
• Support individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
• Assist in the preparation of structured, personalised learning activities
• Foster independence while providing care and supervision where needed
• Promote emotional wellbeing, social skills, and positive behaviour
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists

Who We re Looking For:
• A patient, compassionate individual who enjoys supporting children with ALN
• Experience in a SEN/ALN base, PRU, or specialist setting is desirable but not essential
• Adaptable, team-oriented, and calm under pressure
• Access to transport is beneficial for travelling between schools, if needed
