Job summary

Outwood Academy Shafton, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor to maintain learning continuity during teacher absences. You will supervise whole classes and implement pre-set work under guidance, ensuring a constructive classroom environment across subjects.

The post is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time plus five inset days, with an actual salary of £22,125.52 – £23,459.07.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
• Maintain confidentiality and use ICT packages including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Able to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner.
• Experience of working in a school environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences and implement pre-set work.
• Assist in examination logistics by invigilating and reporting back on pupil behaviour.
• Maintain a constructive working environment and effective classroom management.
• Prepare the learning environment and materials; respond to student questions about set work.
