Job summary

Milk Education in Newcastle is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support a Primary School from September on a long- or short-term basis. You will help deliver lessons, prepare resources, and foster a positive learning environment as part of a welcoming school community.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Provide classroom support by assisting the teacher with lesson delivery, preparing resources, and helping to create a positive learning environment.
  • Support students' learning and development by working with individuals or small groups, encouraging engagement, and promoting independence.
  • Monitor and report student progress, behaviour, and any concerns to the teacher, while maintaining accurate records and respecting confidentiality.
Requirements or Skills:
  • Maintain professionalism by safeguarding student welfare, respecting confidentiality, following school policies, and adapting to the diverse needs of learners
  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills when working with students, teachers, parents, and other school staff.
  • Support the classroom teacher by preparing learning materials, setting up activities, and helping maintain an organized, safe, and engaging learning environment.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
