Job description

SEND Classroom Assistant

Location: Harrogate

Position: Full Time - Monday to Friday, 08:30 am - 15:30 pm

Salary: £90 - £100 per day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

Start Date: ASAP

The School and Role

We are working closely with a school in the Harrogate area that caters for a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The pupils have varying needs such as Complex and Multiple Learning Needs (CMLN), moderate or severe learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), or autism. This role is Full Time with part-time opportunities and the potential to go permanent.

Requirements

The desired Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to deal effectively with students presenting challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques as appropriate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Knowledge and experience of behaviour management and restorative strategies.
  • Experience and comfort with personal care.
  • A driving licence is desirable for this role.
