Job description

Secondary Teaching Assistants required in Bolton and Bury!

This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with teaching assistant experience aiming to gain classroom experience before pursuing a PGCE in September 2025 or 2026.

You will work with small groups of students to provide intervention support and assist within the classroom. As a teaching assistant, you will help maintain a calm and consistent learning environment.

Contract/Position Details:
  • Location: Bolton/Bury
  • Position: Teaching Assistant
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract type: Temporary, Full-time
  • Minimum rate of pay: GBP 95 per day
  • Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
  • Secondary school experience or evidence of working with children
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 & above
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding, Prevent, and behaviour management training (training can be provided if needed)
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for one
  • Minimum of two references covering the last 2 years
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students aged 11–16 across the school
  • Experience coaching young people or working in youth/sport settings
  • Calm, patient, positive attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine desire to support students with additional needs
