Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Class Teacher for Sunderland. The role supports KS3–KS5 across secondary schools from September 2026, with paying daily rates and a full-time temporary contract that could become permanent.

Qualifications

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on Update Service or willingness to process a new application.
  • Professional teaching references covering the last two years.

We are recruiting on behalf of secondary schools across Sunderland seeking enthusiastic and motivated teachers to join their teams from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young people, deliver engaging lessons, and help students achieve their academic potential across KS3, KS4 and KS5.


About the Role:


  • Teaching students aged 11-19 across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Pay, Hours and Contract:


  • Pay: 160 - 200 per day (depending on experience and responsibilities)

  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

  • Contract: Full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent

  • Start Date: September 2026

  • Location: Sunderland


Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • A recognised PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Previous experience teaching within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • Ability to motivate, inspire and engage students of varying abilities.
