Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting a Class 2 Ro-Ro Driver to join a busy waste management operation in Doncaster, DN3 1QR. You will collect, deliver and swap Ro-Ro containers on weekdays, with day shifts and no weekend work. A permanent position may follow after an initial 3-month temporary period.

Full training can be provided for Ro-Ro if you are an experienced driver but new to Ro-Ro will be supported. Expect a reliable, safety-conscious approach and good customer service at all times.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Minimum 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.
• Ro-Ro experience preferred but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Collect and deliver Ro-Ro containers to commercial sites.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Complete delivery/collection paperwork.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours, tachograph and WTD regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and follow health & safety procedures.

Job Title: Class 2 Ro-Ro Driver

Location: Doncaster, DN3 1QR

Times and Days of Work: Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 16:00 (usually finished earlier)

Position Type: Temporary to Permanent (3-month initial period)

Pay Rate: £15.45 per hour (Holiday pay accrued) / £17.31 per hour (Holiday pay included)

Holiday pay: You can choose to have your holiday pay accrued and paid when you take annual leave, or receive it as rolled-up holiday pay within your regular wages. The rolled-up rate includes the applicable holiday pay uplift.

The Best Connection is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Class 2 Ro-Ro Driver to join a busy waste management and recycling operation based in Doncaster, DN3 1QR. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and reliable driver looking for long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position after an initial 3-month period.

Previous Roll-On Roll-Off (Ro-Ro) experience would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate should suitable Ro-Ro experienced drivers prove difficult to source.

About the Role

Working Monday to Friday on day shifts, you will be responsible for the collection, delivery, and exchange of Ro-Ro containers across customer sites. This role offers excellent work-life balance with no weekend working and the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team.

Your Duties Will Include:

• Operating a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Collecting and delivering Ro-Ro containers to commercial customer sites.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Completing all relevant delivery and collection paperwork.
• Ensuring compliance with driver hours, tachograph and WTD regulations.
• Providing excellent customer service at all times.
• Following company health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Minimum 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.
• Maximum of 3 penalty points on licence.
• Valid CPC Qualification Card.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Ro-Ro experience preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
