Job summary

Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is seeking a reliable Category C Class 2 HGV driver for our Newton Abbot depot. You will deliver to local and regional customers, perform daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records while upholding safety standards.

The role offers a permanent, full-time contract with a 5am start, weekend rota, and a salary of £37,340.16 per year, paid weekly on Fridays.

Qualifications

• UK Category C Class 2 HGV licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience.
• Knowledge of drivers hours and road transport rules preferred.
• Able to start at 5am and work with weekend rota.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Category C Class 2 HGV vehicle safely and professionally.
• Deliver customer orders across local and regional areas.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Adhere to drivers’ hours regulations and tachograph rules.
• Complete delivery paperwork and vehicle documentation.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Provide high-quality customer service during deliveries.
• Start work from 5am and maintain a regular pattern.
