Simon Acres Group is seeking a reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join our well-established client in the furniture manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring timely schedules and excellent customer service across designated routes.

The role requires a valid UK Class 2 licence, CPC and tachograph card, and overnight stays with allowances. A professional, punctual attitude and good driving record are essential, with direct employment via

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Up-to-date CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Overnights required; Night Out Allowance provided and enhanced bonus for consecutive nights out.
• Good knowledge of road transport laws and health & safety.
• Ability to carry out manual lifting/deliveries with driver’s assistant.

Responsabilités

• Drive and operate a Class 2 HGV safely and responsibly.
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries across designated routes.
• Secure loads and comply with safety regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain delivery records via scan on/off software.
• Record mileage and fuel usage accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service and professional conduct.
• Comply with tachograph and driver hour regulations.

Job Title: Class 2 HGV Driver - Will take newly-qualified

Location: Depot in Yorkshire

Salary: £20 - £25 per hour plus overtime (time and a third)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to the company's clients, ensuring timely schedules and excellent customer service. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, good driving record, and a professional attitude.

Class 2 HGV Driver's Key Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a Class 2 (CategoryC) HGV in a safe and responsible manner
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries across designated routes
• Ensure all loads are secured correctly and comply with safety regulations
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries via 'scan on/scan off' software
• Maintain accurate records of mileage and fuel usage
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and procedures, including tachograph and driver hour regulations

Requirements

• Valid UK Class 2 (CategoryC) driving licence
• Up-to-date CPC qualification and digital tachograph card
• Previous experience in a similar role within a similar industry (preferred but not essential)
• Good knowledge of road transport laws and health & safety
• This role requires a degree of physical labour/manual lifting from the driver and driver's assistant when delivering/unloading the products
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and attitude
• Overnights required (Night Out Allowance provided + Enhanced Bonus for consecutive nights out)
