Job summary

Steer Staffing Ltd is recruiting a 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver (Class 2) based in Wednesbury. You will deliver customer orders to homes and office sites, supported by a Driver's Mate, with pre-planned routes and pre-loaded vehicles each morning.

Shifts are five days on, three days off on a rotating rota, including two 30-minute breaks. A DBS check is required for this role; CPC and Tacho are essential and a 7.5t/Class 2 licence or higher is required. Salary is £14.28 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar 7.5t/Class 2 driving role.
• CPC and Tachograph (Tacho) knowledge.
• Valid 7.5 ton or Class 2 licence.
• Able to lift heavy items and complete multi-drop deliveries.
• A clean DBS.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-drop deliveries to homes and offices.
• Plan routes and work with a Driver's Mate.
• Pre-call customers before arrival and complete delivery paperwork.
• Ensure packaging is removed and products delivered correctly.
• Adhere to route timing and health and safety procedures.

Steer Staffing are currently recruiting for 7.5 tonne Delivery Drivers, they are happy to accept new pass Class 2 drivers for this role, its to join a distribution and delivery company based in Wednesbury.

You will be delivering customers orders to their houses and office sites, working with a Drivers Mate to support you on all deliveries route plans are put together for your daily, and your vehicle is pre loaded each morning.

The shifts are 5 days on and 3 days off, the days will be on a rota basis, with two 30-minute breaks, morning, and afternoon.

A DBS check will be required for this role.

The duties of the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver / Class 2 Driver include:

• Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role
• Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
• Following a delivery route
• Pre calling customers before arrival
• Filling in paperwork as and when required
• Removing all packaging from each delivery

The ideal 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver / Class 2 Driver will have:

• Experience within a similar role
• CPC and TACO
• 7.5 ton licence or Class 2 licence or above
• The ability to handle heavy goods
• A clean DBS

The hours of work for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver/ Class 2 Driver are 5 days on 3 days off, the working days cover any 5 over Monday - Sunday, you must be available to work between the hours of 6,30am - 6.00pm.

The salary for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver/ Class 2 Driver will be £14.28 per hour, any hours over 45 will be paid at time and a half
