Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for a Monday-to-Friday role in the United Kingdom. You will deliver and collect goods, maintain vehicle checks and paperwork, and ensure loads are secure and compliant with WTD regulations.

The successful candidate will have a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, and at least two years of experience, with a focus on safety, reliability and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• At least two years' HGV Class 2 driving experience.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and WTD.
• Good knowledge of the UK road network.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated attitude.
• Commitment to safe driving, load security and compliance.
• Experience using smartphone apps or digital delivery systems is advantageous but training will be provided.

The Role

Working days: Monday to Friday

Finish time: Variable, depending on daily requirements

Pay rate: £14.50-£15.00 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out deliveries and collections safely and efficiently at customer premises, in line with current legislation and best practice.

Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.

Completing daily vehicle, trailer and equipment checks, ensuring all relevant documentation and procedures are followed.

Ensuring loads are safe, secure and free from damage, using the correct restraints and following company procedures and Safe Systems of Work.

Accurately completing, checking, retaining and handing over delivery paperwork, load documentation and proof of delivery (POD) documents.

Following all company policies, procedures and operational requirements.

Complying with applicable drivers' hours, tachograph and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations, including GB domestic rules where appropriate.

Adhering to health and safety requirements and customer site rules while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

At least two years' HGV Class 2 driving experience.

A valid and up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.

A good understanding of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.

A good knowledge of the UK road network.

A reliable, punctual and self-motivated attitude.

A strong work ethic and a professional approach to customer service.

A commitment to safe driving, load security and legal compliance.

Experience using smartphone apps or digital delivery systems would be an advantage, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
