Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy local authority waste collection team in Worksop.

The role offers £14.67 per hour, Monday to Friday daytime shifts (6:00am-2:30pm) with ongoing work and potential for long-term placement. Immediate starts available and full induction provided.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence required.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive an HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on local routes.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Assist with collecting and loading domestic and commercial waste.
• Work with loaders and the wider collection team.
• Follow road safety and Health & Safety procedures.
• Provide a courteous service to the public.

Duties

• Drive an HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on local routes
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
• Assist with collecting and loading domestic and commercial waste
• Work alongside loaders and the wider collection team
• Follow road safety and Health & Safety procedures
• Provide a professional, courteous service to the public
• Carry out manual handling and outdoor duties in all weather conditions

Requirements

• Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience
• Comfortable with physical work and loading duties
• Reliable, punctual and a good team player
• Previous experience in refuse collection, waste management, recycling or council driving is beneficial but not essential.
