Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Highways/Construction Operative with an HGV Class 2 licence to join our busy highways division based in Sandford and serving Weston-Super-Mare. This full-time, temp-to-perm role offers varied local highway work and a close-knit team environment.

You will perform kerbing, patching, fencing, signage tasks and operate HGV Class 2 vehicles, with winter on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence required.
• NRSWA qualification required.
• Experience in highways, construction or road maintenance preferred.
• Good health and safety understanding.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Flexible hours, especially in winter.

Highways / Construction Operative - HGV Class 2

Location: Weston-Super-Mare

Salary: £27500 - £34700 (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Temp to perm

We are currently looking for an experienced Highways / Construction Operative with an HGV Class 2 licence to join our busy Highways Division based in Sandford.

Working as part of a 2-3 person team, you will carry out a range of highways maintenance and construction works across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Kerbing and general highways works
• Hot and cold lay patching
• Erecting and dismantling fencing
• Erecting, removing and maintaining road signage
• General highways maintenance and construction duties
• Driving and operating HGV Class 2 vehicles as required
• Working safely and effectively as part of a small team
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety
• Participating in the Winter Maintenance On-Call Team during the winter season

Requirements

• Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence - essential
• NRSWA qualification - essential
• Previous experience in highways, construction or road maintenance
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Flexible approach to working hours, particularly during the winter season
