Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Highways/Construction Operative with an HGV Class 2 licence for a busy highways division based in Sandford. You will join a 2–3 person team carrying out highways maintenance and construction work in the local area.

The role offers full-time, temp-to-perm status with opportunities for additional hours during winter maintenance and training within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 2 licence is essential.
• NRSWA qualification is essential.
• Experience in highways, construction or road maintenance.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible hours, especially during winter seasons.

• Kerbing and general highways works.
• Hot and cold lay patching.
• Erecting and dismantling fencing.
• Erecting, removing and maintaining road signage.
• General highways maintenance and construction duties.
• Driving and operating HGV Class 2 vehicles as required.
• Working safely and effectively as part of a small team.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety.
• Participating in the Winter Maintenance On-Call Team during the winter season.

Highways / Construction Operative – HGV Class 2

Location: Weston-Super-Mare
Salary: £27500 - £34700 (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Temp to perm

We are currently looking for an experienced Highways / Construction Operative with an HGV Class 2 licence to join our busy Highways Division based in Sandford.

Working as part of a 2–3 person team, you will carry out a range of highways maintenance and construction works across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Kerbing and general highways works

• Hot and cold lay patching

• Erecting and dismantling fencing

• Erecting, removing and maintaining road signage

• General highways maintenance and construction duties

• Driving and operating HGV Class 2 vehicles as required

• Working safely and effectively as part of a small team

• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety

• Participating in the Winter Maintenance On-Call Team during the winter season

Requirements

• Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence – essential

• NRSWA qualification – essential

• Previous experience in highways, construction or road maintenance

• Good understanding of health and safety requirements

• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
