Job summary

Driver Hire Aberdeen is seeking a Class 2 Driver for frontline services in Peterhead. The role combines driving with essential labouring tasks to help keep roads safe and operational. Training will be provided for gritters and snow ploughs.

The position involves night work, on-call rotations, and potential weather-related shifts, with immediate and ongoing winter contract opportunities. Pay includes a basic rate, overtime, and weekend premiums.

Qualifications

• Class 2 driving licence with CPC and digi tac (n/a for frontline services)
• Physically fit and willing to perform labouring tasks
• Ability to work flexibly during nights, weekends and on-call periods

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 vehicles and perform essential labouring tasks to support road safety and operations
• Clear fuel spillages and remove debris as required
• Assist with gritters and snow ploughs when trained and directed
• Work shifts including week nights, on-call rotations, and potential bad weather works

Based Peterhead - Immediate starts, ongoing work

We are recruiting for Class 2 Drivers. This is hands-on role that combines driving with essential labouring tasks to keep our roads safe and operational. You will be involved in clearing fuel spillages, removing debris, dealing with fallen trees, and more. Training will also be provided to operate gritters and snow ploughs.

Shift & Hours:

flexibility required

• Week nights - week days - alternates
• Every second week your on call; may require early starts, late finishes
• Night work may be required during bad weather (snow/ice)

Pay Rates:

• Basic £16.80 p/hr basic
• OT/Night Rate/Sat Rate: £21.50 p/hr
• Sun Rate: £25 p/hr
• Daily standby payments during on-call periods
• Domestic hours apply

Contract: immediate and ongoing throughout the Winter, with potential temp to perm for the right candidate.

Requirements:

• Class 2 driving licence, CPC, - digi tac (n/a - frontline services work)
• Physically fit, capable and willing to handle the necessary labouring duties
