Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in West Bromwich is seeking a Class 2 HGV Driver to join our logistics team. You will deliver aluminium trunking to electrical wholesalers and building sites across the UK, typically with up to five drops per day, using a curtain-sider to secure loads.

You will start early, between 04:00 and 06:00 on weekdays, with no night shifts or weekends. A valid Cat C licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card are required, plus good load securing skills and local availability.

Qualifications

• Requires valid HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C) with Driver CPC.
• Digital Tachograph Card is mandatory.
• 12 months LGV Cat C driving experience preferred, local to West Bromwich.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aluminium trunking to wholesalers/building sites across the UK, up to 5 drops per day.
• FLT operation required for loading/unloading and securing loads.
• Start times 04:00–06:00, Monday to Friday; no weekends or nights.
• Drive safely and in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle checks and maintain health and safety standards.

Pay Rate: £28,019 based on a 40 hour week (£13.47 per hour - overtime paid at £20.20 per hour)
Grade: RCS grade P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday - starts between 04:00 - 06:00

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Delivery of aluminium trunking to electrical wholesalers / building sites across the UK - maximum of 5 drops per day
• Deliveries are with an FLT so just opening and closing curtains and securing the load is required
• Start times between 04:00-06:00 Monday to Friday - no weekend working or bank holidays!!
• Day work only NO nights out
• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Regular completion of vehicle checks

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (Cat C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Hours per week up to 45 - overtime paid for hours over 40 per week at time and a half
• Curtain side experience and use of straps to secure a load would be an advantage
• Live locally to site in West Brom B70 0EB
• Ideally have 12 months recent LGV Cat C driving experience due the nature of the delivery points
