Job summary

Streamline Services Consultancy Limited is recruiting Class 2 HGV Drivers for a well-established recycling company in Purfleet. You will drive a Class 2 box vehicle on London routes, working with a Driver's Mate to deliver new bins, swap old bins, and collect waste and recyclables.

Start times are between 1:00am and 5:00am, with a temp-to-perm path. The role carries a minimum of 9 hours pay per day, £17 per hour during the temp period, and a permanent salary of £38,000–£41,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Class 2 licence required (valid)
• No more than 6 penalty points
• Willing to work very early starts and variable finishing times
• Experience in waste/recycling is advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 box vehicle on routes throughout London.
• Work with Driver's Mate to complete deliveries and collections.

• Collect general waste, recycling, glass and other materials.
• Complete approximately three trips into London per day depending on workload.
• Return to Purfleet yard for unloading by yard team.

Job description

We are currently recruiting Class 2 HGV Drivers for a well-established recycling company based in Purfleet. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking drivers looking for ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position.

You will be driving a Class 2 box vehicle into London, working alongside a Driver's Mate to deliver new bins, exchange old bins and carry out waste and recycling collections.

This is a hands-on role within the waste and recycling industry, so candidates must be comfortable working with general waste, recycling, glass and other types of rubbish. The work can be physically demanding, messy and smelly.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 box vehicle on routes throughout London.
• Working alongside a Driver's Mate to complete daily deliveries and collections.
• Delivering new bins and swapping out old bins.
• Collecting general waste, recycling, glass and other waste materials.
• Completing approximately three trips into London per day, depending on workload.
• Returning to the Purfleet yard to have the vehicle unloaded by the yard team.
• Ensuring the vehicle is driven safely and responsibly at all times.
• Working efficiently to complete daily routes and collection schedules.

Working Hours & Pay

• £17.00 per hour.
• £38,000 - £41,000 annual salary ( once permanent )
• Minimum 9 hours' pay per day.
• Start times between 1:00am and 5:00am.
• Daily working hours and finishing times will vary depending on workload.
• Monday to Friday during the temporary period, Once permanent, you will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays.
• Temp-to-perm opportunity.

Requirements

• A valid Class 2 driving licence.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
• A reliable, hardworking and professional attitude.
• The ability to work effectively alongside a Driver's Mate.
• Flexibility to accommodate very early starts and variable finishing times.
• The ability to undertake hands-on work in a waste and recycling environment.

Previous waste and recycling experience would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
