Job summary

ITS Building People is seeking an experienced HGV Plant Delivery Driver to join a company operating in the plant hire industry. You will deliver and collect plant and machinery from customer sites across the Home Counties, ensuring safe transport and high service levels.

Mon-Fri, 6:30 AM–4:30 PM, with a £38,000 basic salary plus sales and loyalty bonuses. Role requires loading/unloading, accurate paperwork, and strict adherence to tachograph rules.

Qualifications

• CAT C licence required.
• Driver CPC/DCPC qualification card required.
• Digital tachograph card required.
• Good knowledge of the Home Counties.
• Knowledge of tachograph legislation.
• Experience transporting plant/machinery desirable.
• Must be physically fit for loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant and machinery from customer sites.

The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Plant Delivery Driver to join a well-established company operating within the plant hire industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and collecting plant and machinery from customer sites across the Home Counties, ensuring all equipment is transported safely and efficiently.

The role is Monday to Friday, with no weekend work. You will be working as part of a small team while ensuring customers receive a high level of service.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Delivering and collecting plant and machinery from customer sites
• Loading and unloading machinery from the vehicle
• Ensuring all machinery is safely secured for transportation
• Carrying out vehicle and load checks
• Completing relevant delivery and collection paperwork
• Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and efficiently
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach
• Working in accordance with tachograph legislation and drivers' hours regulations
• Liaising with the depot team to ensure smooth delivery operations
• Reporting any vehicle or machinery issues
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times

Requirements:

• Must hold a current CAT C licence or above
• Valid Driver CPC / DCPC qualification card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Good geographical knowledge of the Home Counties
• Good understanding of tachograph legislation
• Previous experience transporting plant or machinery is desirable
• Must be physically fit and active due to loading and unloading machinery
• Positive attitude towards work
• Ability to work well as part of a small team
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable and professional approach
