Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of a client based at Radlett Depot for multiple Class 2 drivers. This ongoing role offers Monday to Friday starts from 08:30, paying £17.92 per hour PAYE with overtime at £26.10 per hour after 40 hours.

Responsibilities include collections and deliveries (up to 5 stops; up to 15 for collections), manual handling, updating statuses in company software, and safe driving with adherence to WTD and vehicle checks.

Qualifications

• Full UK licence with Class 2 entitlement (CAT C).
• 6 months experience required.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.

• Collections and deliveries required (deliveries up to 5 stops; collections up to 15 stops).
• Manual handling heavily involved (loading/unloading parcels).
• Use devices and company software to update delivery statuses.
• Handle occasional push roller cages and assist sites as needed.
• Reversing in yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision; shunting duties as required.
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations and company safety policies.

The role:

• Collections and deliveries required (deliveries will be up to 5 stops and collections up to 15 stops)
• Manual handling heavily involved including loading and unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery statuses
• Handle occasional push roller cages as needed, assisting sites with movement when required.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
