Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is recruiting a Class 2/7.5T Delivery Driver to join the Home Delivery team in Bedford, MK43 0ZY. This full-time, permanent role offers 48 hours per week, with 4 out of 6 days and start times between 05:00 and 07:00.

DBS clearance is required for all successful candidates. Salary is £41,352.94 per year, paid monthly, with overtime at time and a half for non-scheduled days. Benefits include pension, uniform, health and safety training, life assurance and extensive employee

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence with Class 2 or 7.5T grandfather entitlement (required).
• A valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) and a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, LC or TT99 endorsements within last 5 years.
• Excellent time management, deadlines oriented, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle in compliance with road traffic laws and ensure stock is secured.
• Deliver products to customer premises, some hand balling or heavy lifting.
• Log product returns during deliveries accurately.
• Complete tachographs and perform pre- and post-journey vehicle checks, reporting defects.

Here at GXO Logistics, we are looking for a full-time, permanent Class 2/7.5T Delivery Driver, to join our Home Delivery team in Bedford, MK43 0ZY.

You’ll be working on a full time, permanent basis, 48 hours per week, 4 out of 6 days with the start time window between 05:00 and 07:00, flexibility required for earlier start times when needed. You will be responsible for delivering products to customer premises. All successful candidates will require a DBS clearance.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Safely operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle in full compliance with road traffic and vehicle legislation and ensuring the vehicle and stock are always properly secured
• Deliver products ensuring all items are handled correctly, some hand balling/heavy lifting involved
• Collect and accurately log product returns during deliveries
• Complete tachographs in compliance with legal and company requirements. Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle checks and promptly report any defects

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• A full UK driving licence with category Class 2 or 7.5T grandfather entitlement
• A valid Driver Qualification Card and valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
• Excellent Time management skills and comfortable in working to deadlines, excellent communication and customer service skills are essential
