Job summary

Driver Hire Colchester is seeking Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (C) HGV drivers for temporary, ad-hoc shifts with potential for full-time work. PAYE only, based across CO postcode area. Weekly pay, 8-hour minimum per shift, and varying start times from early morning.

Drivers may handle trunking, general haulage, curtain siders and other trailer types. Requirements include valid licences, CPC, Digital Tachograph Card, PPE, and the ability to work both paper and PDA systems.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence and CPC.
• Digital Tachograph Card required; PPE including steel toe cap boots.
• Min 2 years driving experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks and ensure tachograph compliance.
• Deliver to local and regional destinations across CO postcode area.
• Maintain professional customer-facing conduct at all times.

Driver Hire Colchesterare currently recruiting for Class 1 and Class 2HGV Drivers to join our team.

Our clients are based across the CO postcode; Colchester, Sudbury,etc. They require drivers to cover busy periods, sickness and holiday.

Thisa temporary, adhoc role, part time shifts availableinitally with potential for full time shifts.

Class 2 LGV shifts payrate starts at £16.25p/h weekday, Monday to Friday day work,

Class 1 LGV shifts pay rate starts at £17.37p/h weekday, Monday to Friday day work,

PAYE only – not umbrella – not LTD

• Variety and flexibility. Opportunities to work for a variety of clients, no two weeks are the same. Choose your availabilty on a weekly bases and pick up work when it suits you.
• Start times vary 04:00 and 07:00 AM.
• Mainly Monday to Friday Day work, howevernights are available
• Trunking, General haulage, Curtain siders, Flat bed, Refrigerated trailers, Builders merchants, palletised deliveriesETC
• Local and regional deliveries,
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Requirements:

• Must have your own transport to travel to and from work.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence or Class 2 (CAT C) licence,CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No More then 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or similar endorsements).
• Must have appropriate PPE, including steel toe cap boots (Hi-Vis provided by Driver Hire).
• Must be able to work with both paper-based and PDA-based delivery systems.
• 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential
