Job summary

GI Group are recruiting HGV Shunter Drivers for our Bournemouth-based client (BH21). The role involves yard movements and trailer shunting within a busy site, with early hours and a fixed Monday to Friday schedule.

You must have 12 months+ Class 1 licence, valid Tachograph and CPC, and no more than 6 penalty points. Pay is PAYE with advanced holiday pay: £21.38 per hour rising to £27.26 after 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle pre-checks and ensure roadworthiness.
• Shunt trailers between bays, yard and loading areas.
• Couple/uncouple trailers safely where required.
• Coordinate with transport/warehouse teams for trailer availability.
• Scan and load own vehicle if required.
• Prioritise workload to meet time commitments.

This company provides courier services worldwide, focusing on the express road-based market and offering services such as delivery, freight forwarding, and logistics. They operate in numerous countries and are recognised for their technology, customer service, and commitment to sustainability.

We are looking for HGV Shunter Drivers to work on an ongoing basis:

Monday to Friday
02:00 - 10:45

£21.38 per hour*
£27.26 per hour after 40 hrs*Please note: pay rate is PAYE and includes advanced holiday pay.

• Conducting vehicle pre-checks
• Shunting trailers between bays, yard and loading areas (site movements)
• Coupling/uncoupling trailers safely (where required)
• Working with the transport/warehouse team to ensure trailer availability and smooth yard operation
• Scanning and loading of own vehicle (if required)
• Prioritising workload to ensure time commitments are met

• Presentable appearance, eye for detail and a positive attitude
• No more than 6 penalty points (No DD / IN / DR / DN / TT endorsement codes)
• 12 months+ Class 1 licence
• Valid and in-date Tachograph and CPC qualifications
