Gi Group is seeking a Class 1 Night Driver to support a major supermarket in Bedford. You will deliver chilled and frozen goods to stores across the region, ensuring compliance with tachograph rules and client standards. The role offers long-term stability with both full-time and part-time shifts, including weekend work.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards) required.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 licence and 6 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Penalty points: max 6 (no DR or DD offences).
• Weekend availability essential for 24/7 operation.
• Demonstrate customer service and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Chilled and frozen loads, mostly in cages; some pallets.
• 1–3 store deliveries to supermarkets or petrol stations.
• Operate Class 1/2 vehicles; always paid at Class 1 rate.
• Conduct vehicle checks and maintain digital tachograph records.
• Represent the brand professionally at stores.

Salary: GBP22 - GBP49 per hour

Class 1 Night Driver

Location: Bedford (MK43)

Contract: Ongoing Temporary (Year-round stability)

Earnings: From £22.41 up to £49.61ph

Join Gi Group supporting one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, as a Class 1 Night Driver. This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership client in , Bedford. You will play a vital role in keeping the nation fed by delivering to stores and petrol stations across the region.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Chilled & frozen loads, mostly stored in cages but some cases may be pallets
• 1-3 store deliveries , this can be tosupermarkets or petrol station stores
• Drivers must be flexible to operate Class 1and Class 2 vehicles (always paid at Class 1 rate)
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Drivers must drive as per clients professional standards which you will be coached and trained on
• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement
• Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

Shifts :

• Daily and Weekly Bookings
• Minimum 1 weekend day availability is a must
• Weekend only work available
• Full time and part time opportunities

• Double pay on Bank Holidays (up to £49.61ph)

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards)
• Minimum 1year Class 1 licence + 6 months Class 1 driving experience
• Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR or DD offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
