Job summary

Evans Transport Limited seeks an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join the Brick and Block Haulage department. The role involves nationwide travel from depots in Bideford, Exeter, Wrangaton and Caldicot, with nights out required. Class 1 or Artic/tractor-trailer experience is needed.

You will be responsible for safe, professional deliveries, adherence to tachograph rules, and accurate POD capture while working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence with valid CPC and digital tachograph
• Sound geographical knowledge of the UK and ability to use a road atlas
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Presentable, with a good attitude and polite
• HIAB lorry loader experience required
• Netting experience is beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities

• Deliver customers' goods in a professional and friendly manner
• Take the most direct truck-friendly route
• Carry out daily checks to ensure vehicle is safe and roadworthy
• Work within tachograph and Working Time Directive rules
• Ensure PODs are captured accurately
• Work both independently and as part of a team
• Report issues promptly to management
• Adopt a productive work approach

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our Brick and Block Haulage department. Drivers will be expected to travel around the country to deliver customer goods in a safe an professional manner. The position is available from our Bideford, Exeter, Wrangaton and Caldicot depots. This is for a Artic or Lorry and Drag type vehicle and includes nights out.

Key Skill Requirements for driver

• Deliver customers good in a professional and friendly manner

• Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
• Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
• Ensure all PODs are captured accurately
