Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving license, up-to-date Driver CPC, and a clean or low-point driving record.
• Strong knowledge of UK road laws, tachograph rules, Working Time Directive, and safe loading practices.
• Experience with articulated vehicles, tail-lifts, curtainsiders, and palletised freight handling.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for paperwork and customer interactions.
• Reliable time management and attention to detail following route plans and procedures.
• Basic numeracy/IT skills for handheld devices and telematics.
• Commitment to health and safety in yards, warehouses and loading bays.
• Willingness to complete FORS training or related experience.
• Flexibility for varying shifts including early starts and occasional weekends.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Class 1 HGV Driver role based in the United Kingdom. The driver will undertake local and national deliveries and collections, transporting palletised freight, general haulage, and specialist loads using articulated vehicles. Daily tasks include safely loading and unloading goods, completing vehicle checks, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and following company procedures and industry regulations. The role involves liaising professionally with customers and colleagues, adhering to agreed schedules, and ensuring goods are handled securely and efficiently. The driver will also support safe operations within the yard and warehouse areas as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license, up-to-date Driver CPC, and a clean or low-point driving record
• Strong knowledge of UK road laws, tachograph rules, Working Time Directive, and safe driving and loading practices
• Experience with articulated vehicles, tail-lifts, curtainsiders, and palletised freight handling in haulage or logistics environments
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and interact courteously with customers
• Reliable time management, attention to detail, and the ability to follow route plans and company procedures
• Basic numeracy and IT skills for using handheld devices, vehicle telematics, or warehouse management systems
• Physical ability to handle manual tasks such as securing loads and assisting with loading/unloading where necessary
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, including safe working in yards, warehouses, and loading bays
• Previous experience with FORS or CLOCS-compliant operations, or willingness to complete related training
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early starts or occasional weekend work depending on operational needs
