Job summary

Smart Solutions in Leicester is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a trunking role with a 4-day week. You will move recycling materials between Leicester and Edmonton using a walking floor trailer and complete daily checks and paperwork.

£16.44 per hour with a £1,000 joining bonus, paid weekly. Walking floor experience is preferred but training can be provided for suitable candidates; temporary to permanent opportunity with ongoing work.

Qualifications

• Full UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Valid Driver CPC and Tachograph card required.
• Walking floor experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete trunk run from Leicester to Edmonton and transport recycling materials.
• Operate walking floor trailer and ensure loads are transported safely.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and complete driver paperwork.
• Return to Leicester with a backload and follow health & safety procedures.

Class 1 Trunking Driver - £16.44/hr + £1,000 Joining Bonus

Location: Leicester
Pay: £16.44 per hour
Working Pattern: 4 days per week
Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Smart Solutions are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers to join a busy recycling operation in Leicester.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for regular ongoing work and a 4-day working week.

£1,000 JOINING BONUS

• £500 after successfully completing 6 weeks
• A further £500 after successfully completing 12 weeks

The Role

You will be completing a straightforward trunking route from Leicester to Edmonton, transporting recycling materials using a walking floor trailer.

Your duties will include:

• Completing a trunk run from Leicester to Edmonton
• Transporting recycling waste using a walking floor trailer
• Returning to Leicester with a backload
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
• Ensuring loads are transported safely
• Following all transport and health & safety procedures
• Completing routine driver paperwork as required

Walking Floor Experience Not Essential

Walking floor experience is preferred but not essential.

Drivers with mainly Class 1 motorway/trunking experience will also be considered, with training available for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
• Walking floor experience advantageous but not essential
• Reliable and professional approach
• Good understanding of road safety and transport procedures
