Job summary

Europa Worldwide Group is seeking a class 1 night shift driver for UK night trunking. The role covers five-week rotations from Dartford, with on-site responsibilities and a focus on safe, compliant operation of Double-Deck Long-Semi Trailers.

Expect 50-hour weeks, Monday to Friday, with a discretionary bonus after probation. Key tasks include pre-shift checks, minor in-transit repairs, load securing, TACHO downloads, and diligent documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 HGV licence and DCPC up to date.
• Night trunking experience is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to complete required Run Sheets and other paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle walk rounds to ensure roadworthiness.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance in transit when required.
• Keep the cab clean and presentable; return truck in good condition.
• Safely secure loads and manage night-time trunking duties.
• Monitor road conditions and comply with MOT and internal rules.
• Perform TACHO downloads and administrative tasks as needed.
• Undertake other duties as required by the line manager.

Job description

We are looking for

As a class 1 night shift driver, you will be pulling Double-Deck Long-Semi Trailers (LST) on set routes, on a 5-week rotation. The work is night trunking from our Dartford facility to set meeting points for a drop and swap. All work for this position is based within the UK.

Working with our Regional Partner Network team, you are required to adhere to times where appropriate but accept that the working day may change as the day progresses. Friendly and professional approach is key as our drivers are the face of our company. We would expect you to control your driving and working time hours over a salaried 50hr week. The work is on a Monday to Friday basis.

What you will be doing:

• Complete daily walk round ensuring vehicles are mechanically sound and legally road worthy before commencing shift as part of driver walk around checks.
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance in the event of accident or breakdown while in transit.
• Maintain the interior of the truck to keep it clean and presentable daily. (Night Trucks are used during the day so you will be expected to return it in the same condition as received).
• Safely securing heavy loads and large goods for transport.
• Keeping informed of road closures, accidents, and traffic diversions.
• Complying with all MOT and in-house regulations and rules.
• TACHO download.
• Undertake any other duties as requested by their line manager, commensurate with the role.

Our Ideal Person:

• Full Class 1 HGV license. Ideally has LST Certified training (training will be given if not).
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in the Night Trunking arena preferred but not essential.
• Has a clean licence and up to date DCPC.
• Able to complete required documentation (written correspondence like Run sheets where required).
