Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 (LGV C+E) Driver for day shifts in North Shields. Start times are 06:00 with trunk deliveries across the UK and ad-hoc shifts to cover peak periods, sickness and holidays.

A driving assessment and induction are required before starting. You must hold a valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence with at least 1 year of commercial Class 1 experience, a clean licence preferred, and you should be reliable, flexible and communicative for a

Start Time: 06:00 | Trunk Runs | Peak Period & Holiday Cover

The Best Connection are seeking to recruit experienced HGV Class 1 (LGV C+E) Drivers to work with our client based in North Shields. Due to increased workload during peak periods and busy operational times, our client is looking to strengthen their transport team with flexible HGV Class 1 (LGV C+E) Drivers to support trunk deliveries across the UK.

The Role:

• Start time: 06:00, day shift
• Trunk runs to set UK locations - no handball
• Driving duties to support increased workloads, peak periods, sickness and holiday cover
• Flexible ad-hoc shifts available based on business demands
• Customer-facing role - friendly and professional attitude required
• A driving assessment and induction will be required prior to starting
• The successful HGV Class 1 (LGV C+E) Driver will be expected to provide reliable support during busy operational periods

The Candidate:

• Must hold a valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence

Hours of Work:

• Day shifts only, starting at 06:00
• Shifts offered on an ad-hoc basis during busy periods and operational cover requirements
• Additional shifts may become available during peak trading periods

Pay Rates (PAYE):

• £16.00 per hour - Monday to Friday (first 8 hours)
• £24.00 per hour - Monday to Friday (after 8 hours)
• £24.00 per hour - Saturday (all hours)
• £32.00 per hour - Sunday & Bank Holidays (all hours)
• £28.50 overnight allowance
