Job summary

Gregory Distribution is seeking a Class 1 Driver to deliver to retail and commercial sites across the UK. You will operate curtain side and box trailers, perform 1–3 drops per shift, and secure loads for safe transit.

A UK CE license, DCPC, and tachograph cards are required, with a strong emphasis on customer service. Shifts run 04:00–14:00, Monday to Friday, with overtime at hourly rates and enhanced weekend rates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to retail stores across the UK using curtain side and box trailers on single and double deck trailers
• Complete 1–3 delivery drops per shift as scheduled
• Secure loads with straps and nets to prevent movement or damage
• Manoeuvre tail lift deliveries and unload safely at client sites
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks using company phone
• Maintain regular communication with transport office for updates
• Represent the company professionally at delivery points and build customer relationships
• Participate in ongoing training and DCPC courses and industry updates

Job description

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Use curtain side and box trailers on single and double deck trailers, to deliver goods to retail stores across the UK.
• Complete an average of 1 to 3 delivery drops per shift in line with schedule and route planning.
• Ensure all loads are safely and securely fastened using straps, nets, and other securing equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Manage tail lift deliveries, ensuring safe and efficient unloading at client sites.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
• Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.
  Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail or commercial sites (preferred but not essential).
• A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously.
• The ability to work to tight schedules while maintaining high safety standards.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when required.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.
  Competitive Salary: £38,287 per annum, based on 48 hours per week.
• Shift Hours: 04:00hrs - 14:00hrs, Monday to Friday.
