Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Driver to operate a refrigerated trailer with tail lift, performing multi-drop deliveries across the central belt. You will load, secure, and check cargo, maintain daily vehicle safety, and communicate with the transport team to ensure timely deliveries.

Offered shift 14:00 start on a 4 on 4 off rota, with overtime and training opportunities. Competitive hourly pay plus night shift uplift.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of refrigerated trailers is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Multi-drop milk cage deliveries to retail stores in the central belt area using a refrigerated trailer with tail lift.
• Load and secure goods to prevent shifting or damage using straps, nets and other securing devices.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks using company phone to maintain vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide progress updates and meet customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with industry standards and best practices.
• Complete shunting duties in the yard after deliveries are completed.

About The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Use a refrigerated trailer with use of a tail lift to make multi drop milk cage deliveries to retail stores in the central belt area.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.
• Complete shunting duties in the yard once deliveries are completed.

Essential Skills And Qualifications
