Job summary

Gist Limited in Carlisle is recruiting experienced Class 1 Drivers to support M&S stores with regular RDC deliveries. You will work a 3-day pattern with solid shift premiums and a modern fleet, backed by a supportive transport office.

The role offers clear schedules with Thurs-Sat or Fri-Sun rotas, competitive hourly rates, and opportunities to progress within the wider M&S family. A safety-first approach and professional conduct on the road are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out RDC deliveries.
• Representing Gist and M&S professionally on the road and at stores.
• Keeping in touch with the transport team throughout your shift.

The role at a glance

• £15.63 per hour
• £17.93 per hour on Saturdays
• £19.57 per hour on Sundays and Bank holidays
• £16.15 per hour Overtime rate
• £2.19 Unsociable hours rate between 20:00 - 06:00
• Location: Carlisle
• Experience: Minimum 18 months' Class 1 driving experience

What you'll be doing

RDC Deliveries

As one of our Class 1 Drivers, you'll play an important role in keeping M&S moving.

You'll be completing RDC deliveries, making sure products arrive safely, efficiently and on time while providing a professional service at every location.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Carrying out vehicle and safety checks
• Working safely and efficiently to planned schedules
• Keeping in touch with our transport team throughout your shift
• Representing Gist and M&S professionally on the road and at stores

What we’re looking for

You'll need:

• A validClass 1 (C+E) licence
• Aminimum of 18 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Valid Driver CPC
• A driving record that meets our internal safety and compliance standards
• A professional and safety-focused approach
• A reliable, team-focused attitude
• Confidence with manual handling where required
