Job summary

The Best Connection is actively recruiting a Class 1 Driver for a busy client based in Caldicot. This full-time role offers ongoing work with a chance to become permanent after a successful temp period.

You will work within a general haulage operation, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Key duties include driving Class 1 vehicles, securing loads, completing checks, and maintaining accurate paperwork while complying with hours regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card.
• Previous general haulage experience preferred.
• Good understanding of driver hours and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicle.
• Carry out general haulage deliveries and collections.
• Secure loads correctly and ensure safe transport.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV driver looking for ongoing, full-time work with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period. You will be working within a general haulage operation, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

• Carrying out general haulage deliveries and collections
• Securing loads correctly and ensuring safe transport
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately
• Adhering to all driving laws and working time regulations
• Maintaining a professional manner at all times

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
