Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) to join our Burton-on-Trent operation. Deliver cages to Hobbycraft stores, with mostly cage-based workloads and occasional pallet work, using a modern fleet.

Expect day and night shifts, guaranteed 8 hours per shift, immediate starts, weekly pay every Friday, and OT opportunities. Applicants should have 2 years' Class 1 experience, a valid CPC and tachograph card, and valid UK licences.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• At least 2 years of commercial Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC).
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cages into Hobbycraft stores.
• Return salvage and manage paperwork correctly.
• Handle cage deliveries on day and night routes.
• Night deliveries – Airlock process.
• Work with established drivers during initial routes.

Pay Rate:£18.04 to £19.79 p/h (static clock)

Shifts: Guaranteed 8 hours pay per shift - Sunday to Thursday (Days + Nights)

The Role

As a professional HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties may include:

Deliveries are primarily caged deliveries to Hobbycraft stores

There may be the occasional pallet, but the vast majority of the work is cage-based

Drivers are responsible for:

• Delivering cages into the store
• Returning salvage
• Managing the delivery paperwork/process correctly
• Both day and night drivers will physically handle the cage deliveries
• Night Deliveries - Airlock Process

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• At least 2years' commercial Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service
